I always knew that I wanted to go into a profession that helped families. I was on my way to becoming a doctor, at least until I discovered I could not stand the sight of blood or needles. After my wonderful experience with Justice Corps, working as a family law paralegal was the most natural next step for me because I grew up experiencing the stress and confusion that divorce can cause in a family. So, I take my work here at Van Oorschot Law Group very personally. I can really relate to our clients.
I enjoy the team atmosphere Marlo has created at the firm and I think clients sense that when they work with us. Larger firms sometimes struggle with creating that sense of “team” and giving the important personal attention, both of which we give our clients every day.
The work we do at the firm can be emotionally draining at times, so when I am not working in the office you can find me out on a hiking trail, rock climbing, kayaking or on a bike. On those few days when the weather isn’t great here in LA, you can find me in front of a movie screen enjoying the latest action or horror film, nose deep in a book at a local coffee shop, or on my laptop learning the latest in web development skills.
